Karma.....If ya have to ask for someone to give you Karma, that makes it meaningless.  If ya have to PM someone for Karma, that makes it meaningless.    I can see this turning into another mess... Some kind of bragging rights...Something on the order of the rating system.  If ya have to ask for it, ya don't have any.

I can see the point of having it on there, bit of a boost for those who are helpful. Lets them know they're appreciated.

But if you're asking people for it I think you're spending a little to much time worrying about something that gets you nothing.

I would ask "someone actually asked for/pm'd someone to give them Karma" but just by posting this post, I can see that it happened. Wow.

At first I thought"Big Deal" Now when I look at my score I'm proud of the fact that they represent people whom I've helped in some small way or a contribution I have made to the communuty. Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.  They would be meaningless if I asked for them.

Karma is a lot more fun on JU than WC because we use it as a way of slapping each other on the back or saying 'hi' rather than just for thanking for good answers.

Because usually, there are no answers.

Only more questions.
