It seems that some newbies think it's cool to put the puke sign while commenting on artists work. This seems like a lack of class. If you don't like a certain work then move on or politely say so without the puke icon. If you think you can create something better, do so. Remember, these people spend hours and days doing this for free. So show some class.

I guess you read his thread Iben. That SDK has been used by a number of skinners trying to do WMP's, thats why I told him about it. I thought he was all grown up. I didn't know he was a child.

Someone give me a "kick" button and I'll stop complaining about emoticons.

Now emoticons are a sad excuse for those that lack the linguistic skill to string words together into meaningfull sentences. Context alone should suffice to determine whether or not someone is pulling your leg.

And, no, I can't be persuaded with a windmill icon.

I am sorry to say once again, if you can't put up with those negative comments stop submitting. I have collected a few and have you ever heard me complaining I got them? I think if you like to point out immatureness to the ones who use that icon, you also are able to decide for yourself whether the criticism is constructive or not. It's a fact of life that not all your works will be appreciated, and if you only want nice icons and nice comments well....I'd say build a stronger skin...And maybe replace a puking icon by a cross-eyed looking icon or something.

Lecrayon, constructive criticism is good, but a string of pukeing icons tells you nothing. This seems a little strange comming from you. Are not you the one who gets upset over low ratings? It seems that they can be considered the same. Low rating means the same as a puke icon, they didn't like it!

I'm a bit confused about this. It is deemed inapropriate to make drastically negative comments about a persons skin, so much so that one can be exiled for doing so. Yet using the puke icon is OK? Sorry, seems contradictory to me.

The premise that if you cannot stand puerile criticism then don't upload cos it's a fact of life/comes with the territory is a facile argument, akin to 'don't complain about dying from cancer...it's a fact of life and comes with the territory'.

People have been removed from interacting with this site purely due to the qualities [or lack of] shown in their skin commenting.

"THIS SUXORS DONKEY DICK " is a bit different to "I tried it, but I didn't like it... "

Both make use of the Icon...but context is what it's all about. The first one gets deleted...the latter remains.

With a population of skinners/wall artists of varying 'age and experience' and from many different social backgrounds, one must realize that what doesn't 'bother' you may really upset someone less thick-skinned. It's only reasonable to expect some form of cossetting or protection be put in place for those who might otherwise be dissuaded from continuing to enjoy the site.

I've been around skinning long enough to have collected 'quality' derisive comments so I'm rarely 'miffed' by any I get these days, but I can see how they can and do affect others, particularly 'sex-related' ones where the skinner is a woman...[call me old fashioned but that's just 'not on']...
