I remember in the old days(Good Old) you had skinners making minimalistic, thin border window blinds with a roll up button.  Damn few skinners put the roll up button anymore and it seems thin borders are out.  One reason most of my blinds are old.

I remember the good old days too......  What I  miss the most were those skins (around the year 2000) that had an animated border on the whichever window was active on the screen.  Animation "froze" when the window became inactive.

AFAIK, this cannot be done in the current version of WB.  The old skins are STILL available for DL here (you have to search for them), but of course they are pretty much worthless with the new WB.

I asked for some documentation (from SD) on how to create (or upgrade) those old skins, but was pretty much blown off.  I remember there used to be a .dll file needed; I think it was named animate.dll

Still functional in WB8 but I'm not sure if it comes with the default install any more.  PM me if you'd like.

Thank you for the info.

Now that I know the actual name I can probably find it.

I have almost every file I've ever gotten since the good all days.

I have over 9TB of storage and an Access database so I can find files very quickly.

If I can't find it I'll PM you.   Thanks.

Did anyone mention Yrag. One of the most knowledgeable/helpful people of computer issues.

I only thought of that earlier and logged into the thread to mention his name, only to find that you had.

I have yrag to thank for many, many answers to PC issues I was having at various times.... not to mention the dozens upon dozens of tips I picked up through his replies to others.  Yes, a true community minded person, yrag, and so often he was quite funny with it.

I do recall somebody saying that yrag had been unwell and that's why we hadn't seen him a while, but that was mid-2014 sometime and I've heard nothing since.  I  do hope he's okay and that maybe he can make it back here when it's a good time for him.

Another member fron way back I've not seen around the forums in over a year now is JPlair.... some news from or about him to say 's okay would also be nice.

CPlair is on Facebook. I "talked" with him several times recently. He is quite well and into archery, it seems. Is Curtis Plair who you mean, Mark?

As for IR himself, I do hope he's okay and can find his way back here someday soon... if not as a skinner, as a forum visitor/regular.

If you're reading this, IR, you have been missed and please let us know you're okay.

v used to talk to him regularly by phone... then suddenly, nothing.... not looking good.... he did have some considerable health issues.... really miss him too...

hope one day Tiggz can find his way back here...

Spoke a year ago with Yrag...have called a few times since, but he never called back. Miss the curmudgeon.

Curtis asked for some account help on fb... couldn't switch it though so I asked him to write Support...haven't heard back...

Yrag was a huge help to me resolving a particularly frustrating problem on one occasion, spanning a number of phone calls.  Hope he's doing OK.  Good egg, that guy.

Yep....when you're insulted by him you know for sure you've been doing something wrong alright...

Hmm, must look into that. There is a gaming theme I would like to try and see how it behaves. A shame no OS could perform some modern futuristic style/animations like Transformers.

Yup, that's the bloke I'm talking about orright.  We used to exchange a bit of banter in the Screenshots gallery way back when, but then I stopped submitting screenies due to illness and we sorta lost touch.  It's great to know that he's doing okay, though... and archery is something that I used to love as well.

As a teenager I made my own bow and it turned out really well, with power, distance and great accuracy.  Put it this way, it performed better than my next door neighbour's sports bow that his parents paid a couple of hundred pounds for.... my parents were not as well off and probably would not have bought me one anyway [too dangerous], hence having to make my own.

Now that was more acceptable to them, like how could a 14 y/o kid make a bow that could do any real harm?  How little did they know.  Sadly, my relocation from the UK to Oz meant that I had to leave it behind with the next door neighbour [who always coveted it]... who then promptly went out and killed one of the local farmer's cows with it, which made me wish I had destroyed it instead... despite weeks and weeks of whittling, bending and testing to get it just right.

Ah, the good old days, when a kid could go out in a country laneway, find a perfect piece of Yew and make a bow that Robin Hood would have been proud of.

Quoting Daiwa,

Good egg, that guy.

Yeah, I copped a few classic insults from the great man, all of which were funny and made me laugh.  Yup, a great bloke to have around.
